White Rock, British Columbia, Canada. White Rock is a seaside town located about 35 minutes from the big city of Vancouver. White Rock is known for its sandy beaches in the summer, and its long pier which is a favorite for walkers.
White Rock is a popular destination for photographers, especially during spectacular sunsets. The most amazing sunset in recent memory was on January 1st, 2011…and it was a show stopper. The last photo in this series which shows a an orange-red sky over water is a photo that is virtually straight out of the camera. I gave this photo a boost in saturation of only 5, and sharpened it. This photo is exactly how it looked on that evening.
HDR photography lends itself perfectly to sunset shots because of the high dynamic range involved with a bright sky and dark foreground.
Visit White Rock some day and … take some HDR photos.

Great pictures that’s why i moved here 3 years ago from edmonton whiterock is a great place.
Thank you Doug. White Rock is the best place to live in Canada, in my humble opinion. The tide was extremely low today, the sun was shining, and the sky was blue, so I got out there and took some very cool HDR photos of purple starfish. I should have a couple of photos posted tonight.
